4/11/2024 0 Comments Xplane 11 scenery vs flightgearIt is really as simple as finding one or more that check your own personal boxes and to enjoy it or them how you want to. There are others I no longer keep installed FSX/P3D, IL, etc. The lack of real world weather and being able to fly everywhere is a drawback, but the maps are very detailed and the mission editor very powerful to get the flights one wants. They still use that same spirit and put a lot of research into everything they and their third party developers create. They made DCS World to allow people to fly those together. Keep in mind, DCS started as creating single aircraft simulations. The scenery will still leave a lot to be desired compared to MSFS, but it has one of the best flight models around and excellent for helicopters.ĭCS has an amazing attention to detail and realism with each sim they create. I love flying PMDG (DC6 and 737), Leonardo's MD80, and others and with A2A's Commanche making progress, the future is very bright for MSFS. There are only a few helicopters which are passable but not as good as XP11, DCS, or AFS2, more are coming soon from Asobo themselves. It's totally fine if you stay in the sim. MSFS allows for beautiful VFR and even IFR if one is fine with actual conditions to be different than forecast (which isn't terribly different from the real world), the problem is in current weather reports (METARS, ATIS, AWOS) not being accurate and coinciding with how they are reported in Foreflight or other available sources. Granted you still can't feel it, but seeing it helps a lot. Very few simulators portray this and it is very evident when going flying in real life after flying a lot in the sims. I turn the turbulence up to around half or 3/4 and it really does move around as one would expect. One thing that I find AFS does really well is how they have captured how light aircraft get bounced around in the bumps on a normal day. I dream of realistic water in place of the textures. This scenery has taken a lot of time, around 6. I have included all new X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 10.50 features, and this scenery is compatible with both X-Plane 10 and X-Plane 11. With over 21,000 object his is the most advanced freeware scenery for KJFK available today. The lack of real world weather is a minus. Kennedy International Airport version 2.2. I truly enjoy flying one of the most accurate R22 sims available. I"m a real world private pilot (ASEL) who has ambitions to get my rotor addon, and on up.Īerofly FS4 has one of the best helicopter flight dynamics in any simulator. I enjoy all of the flight simulators for different reasons.
